One of the equally important symbols of Jermuk is the statue of a deer on one of the high mountains surrounding the town.
There is a legend that says that long ago, when hunting was the main means of human existence, these virgin forests were full of all kinds of game. Then one day, an experienced hunter shot a young deer. The young deer with great effort, gathering its last strength, begins to run away. The hunter follows him closely. Somehow, barely dragging its feet, the deer reaches the mineral springs of Jermuk, jumps into the water and… miracle, it comes out of the water completely healthy and healed and immediately disappears into the forest.
The experienced hunter, who has seen everything in his life, is amazed by the miracle performed by simple water, and since that day the fame of Jermuk water spreads all over the world, and the deer, who brought the secret of miracle water to people, becomes a favorite of the people and a symbol of Jermuk.
